Product Description
The Silver 500 7G is the largest floorstander in Monitor Audio's seventh-generation Silver Series, a three-way design intended for larger rooms. It carries the same C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter and RST II (Rigid Surface Technology) driver diaphragms used throughout the Silver range, engineered with a rippled surface pattern that Monitor Audio designed to control cone breakup and keep output linear as volume increases.
A 3-inch C-CAM midrange handles the presence region, crossing over to a pair of 8-inch C-CAM bass drivers that load into twin rear-firing HiVe II ports tuned for extension without excessive port noise. Monitor Audio specifies sensitivity of 90.5dB and a recommended amplifier range up to 250 watts, putting it comfortably within reach of most mid-power home theater receivers or stereo amplifiers.
Cabinets are finished in a choice of real-wood veneers, including Ash, Black Oak, and Walnut, or gloss lacquer options, and the speaker is sold as a matched pair with a five-year warranty.
