Product Description
The 703 S3 is the third model down from the top of Bowers & Wilkins' 700 Series S3 range, and it's the smallest tower in the lineup to carry the tweeter-on-top layout previously reserved for B&W's flagship 800 Series. A one-inch carbon-dome tweeter sits in its own die-cast pod above the main cabinet, mechanically decoupled so cabinet vibration doesn't color the top end, with a breakup point pushed out to roughly 47kHz, well above the audible range.
Beneath it, a 6-inch Continuum-cone midrange uses the same biomimetic suspension geometry developed for the 800 Series, decoupled from the cabinet in its own sub-enclosure. Two 6.5-inch Aerofoil-profile bass cones handle low frequencies, vented through B&W's Flowport to reduce turbulence noise at high output.
This S3-generation redesign brings a narrower cabinet, curved baffle edges, and reworked crossover and binding-post hardware compared to the outgoing S2 model. Each tower ships with a removable magnetic grille, a foam port bung for tuning bass response in smaller rooms, and a five-year warranty.
