Product Description
The 5050 is the flagship floorstanding model in Q Acoustics' 5000 Series, positioned as a large-room speaker for listeners who have outgrown the brand's smaller Concept and 3000-series towers. It uses Q Acoustics' C3 (Continuous Curved Cone) geometry on its mid/bass drivers, a cone profile the company designed to delay breakup modes and smooth the handoff to the tweeter.
Two 6-inch C3 bass/mid drivers flank a 1-inch tweeter that is hermetically sealed to keep its response and output consistent over the speaker's lifetime, and the cabinet uses Q Acoustics' P2P (point-to-point) internal bracing to add rigidity without excessive cabinet mass.
The 5050 is offered in a choice of Satin Black, Satin White, Santos Rosewood, or Holme Oak finishes, with magnetically attached grilles that leave no visible fixing points on the baffle. It is sold as a matched pair.
